Governor Alamieyeseigha of Bayelsa state has not only disgraced all executive Governors but also put the image of the Nigerian people into a mess. President Olusegun Obasanjo has been working tirelessly in the fight against corruption while other people are pulling down what he (Obasanjo) is trying to build. Bayelsa Governor must not go unpunished.

I agree with Owukori. Before we conclude that Nigeria is doomed as a country, for welcoming the Governor back into the Bayelsa, we should look at the calibre of people that make up the 'supporters club'. These people are mostly physophants, who have sold their conscience. Many are uneducated people who were simply told half truths and off course, how long does it take you to mobilize a mass of hungry, hopeless people, when you have some money for them for their next meal.

I bet Bayelsans are weeping in their hearts for their future that is presently being mortgaged on a platter of falsehoods, corruption and deception. They are helpless, and like most Nigerians, they will most likely watch as events unfold. As these enemies of the state take over Bayelsa.

It is a function of who makes the most noise. These people have the money and the political will to turn tables. They can make so much noise that people in other parts of the world would think its really the Bayelsans that are making the noise. I do hope nemesis will catch up on these people.

I think you will find that the numbers of "supporters" lining the streets of Yenagoa are a) greatly eggerated and b) victims of lies spun to them by supporters of the Governor who are claiming that he (the governor) is being victimised by Obasanjo and was set up by the British government both of which are complete hogwash. Thirdly Alamieyeseigha does not represent even Bayelsans let alone the Ijaw nation - maybe those sycophants in his village support him but thats about it. Where was this Alamieyeseigha when Obasanjo invaded Odi, where was he when the people of Kaiama were being brutalised by MOPO? These are people who 3 years ago were activists in the struggle for human rights in the Niger Delta, even worked on the defense team for the late Ken Saro Wiwa and you have now turned yourselves upside down in to VIPs and criminals. I am truely disgusted and disappointed.

Diepreye Alamieyeseigha has just put himself in greater trouble by saying God has aided him in a crime. Only a shameless fellow will show his face to his people after such an accusation. He will fit better in Nollywood rather than be a state governor...because he and his cronies are full of James Bond type of action. How can a whole governor disguise as a woman! Shame on him, shame on Nigeria. As per those jubilating with him...hmmm, it's a case of the blind leading the blind. They are joining Diepreye Alamieyeseigha in eating their children's inheritance.
There is nothing fishy about his escape, he was only aided by rogues like him, who will do anything for money.

I wasn't surprised guys.
I don't know why but I just wasn't surprised. I don't know if that is a good sign.

The guy is not the first crook I’ve seen in this country.
There have been worse. Escaping prison wasn't such a difficult thing from the way i rate these men?

I believe there are Nigerians In Europe who could have done it for discount on the money let alone celebrate his return.
These people can't be blamed much for rejoicing though, they obviously have been brainwashed with some stupid racist/political dogma.

Please prepare for worse.
It's not a Nigerian thing to be corrupt, but some are just extremely corrupt.

The way things are going now, it appears as if some trouble might just be on the way for the Bayelsa's state Governor.

Well let just keep our fingers crossed and see live and direct how the Nigerian Government will handle the case.

This is going to be a litmus test to the FGN

Yesterday marked another sad day in Nigeria's history! Not because of the Bayelsa's governor escape from the UK, but the "rousing" welcome he recieved back home! This events have made me the laughin stock in my local pub once again. How long do people like myself have to explain to the world that Nigerians are not mad people! I don't know!

We hope so. Worse was said during Atiku's so called investigation. I did feel that nothing was going to happen, and I was right. The case just died down . He indeed wasnt a sacred cow.

Would this guy be indeed Innocent?. Time would tell.
