What am i upto?

Well actually nothing much so to say. The crazy 2 months vacation, and also the chunk of coding and customization, here and there, and not forgetting the loneliness, as in currently i would say its official. whatever that means you might say but those close to me know what i mean. Anywayz i am currently working on launching something special, that Nigerians in Nigeria have always dreamt of, but havent really got the services together with the quality and the price to pay, other issues might be logisitics etc which would apply to the service renderer besides other factors such as payment gateways etc. You might realise that i am not really stating what it is. Well its still under development, and i really want to be fully ready before announcing it officially.
Well i have been doing a lot of Surveys and Research but hopefully by next month it would be fully online. It is even a suprise to my partners :D . Actually the whole idea actually came from my friends, that have always wanted such services. Well then recently i taught, that why not provide it to the whole Nigeria?, instead of just friends only.
Well as i said its still kindda confidential now. Stay Tuned, till the launch…………….
You would be very excited, that is if you are in Nigeria :D

SHOULD I FINANCE MY BUSINESS?

When it comes to bringing a business idea into reality, a major problem that always arises is the lack of funds due to the nature of the plan intended. But nevertheless a good business plans does require that you look for external finances to ensure that there is a total distribution of resources contribution and enough funds to maintain the perfect architecture of the plan, withdrawing from ones own pocket is highly discouraged even if you have the surplus funds because it normally leads to the restricted urge of trying to be prudent in spending to save and thus affect the supposed desired achievement massively. Due to the this fact most of the basic necessities and luxury that ensures success is cut back in attempt to save more.
So really the need to look for external financing is really a must, but then again most of the so-called young entrepreneurs are running away from it due to the fact that they have to share the profits earned. One fact is most are greedy and self-centred. The others, well not really to be blamed perhaps we might say, because of issues like the likelihood of investors stealing the idea.

But the truth about new unique business is even the business plan are stolen nothing really can be archived with the business idea. What of if my idea were stolen through the business plan, what would I do? They would ask? I would say I don’t care. As long as I designed the business plan myself. The business plan is supposed to address what you are doing, what you are tackling, and the forecasted market and possible income from it.
The Business plan does not contain the step-by-step approach to running the system I suppose!! It’s a guide. And therefore replicating and implementing it would be really hard, if it’s as unique as it’s supposed to be. I would say I would only give proposals to business ideas that are only unique; otherwise what’s new about them, if they are just some imitated concept of another persons business, and what is the turning point? Well so really the alarm, is uncalled for!! And besides I am yet to come across someone whose business ideas was stolen by the investor through a business plan and implemented.
The hard part of business plans is the convincing part. You really have to convince your investors to invest; by really understanding what you are doing and making them see what you have installed. Raising the capitals after designing the business plan is not that difficult, if you really have the business plan designed. How many of you have really designed one and couldn’t raise the capital? I really doubt any of you does. All we do is complain without effort.

And one more tip, do you want your company to be a multinational standard? To achieve this does not require any voodoo that is. The basic rule is to get it financed by external resources, be consistent as much as possible, and make sure all your plans are followed, reviewed and redeveloped in a cycle to the later, and always enjoy firing under performers, retraining would cost you more than recruiting a better one. And to end it, it’s easier saying than doing.

Relationships

Do I happen to be a heartbreaker, or a heartless guy? , Well I would say “No”. When it comes to relationship there are problems surrounding factors such as time, money, sacrifice or even self-gratification in terms of feeling good about the whole idea, and this is really something worth tackling before going ahead into the deep realms of the whole idea. I personally do not believe that because I happen to be in a relationship, and there is love, and I am not really comfortable with the sacrifies that I really have to push myself hard to accept it, because I don’t want to hurt the other party involved. This does apply to a current relationship I had to let go. The problem with this relationship was not love, money, or I have to lie a bit time. The main issue was that I was not really comfortable with the idea of that fixated point in my life.

Many would say I am not mature enough probably, or even go into the extent to say that I am a self-centred person. Well you can judge me but you cannot be right about your judgement. But then again we shouldn’t forget the fact that I am just 22–? I still do have a long way to go in my life. And really I am not ready to settle if that might be the case. Men are always afraid in general. But in my case that’s not the issue at all. I want a flexible relationship. A relationship I can say enough is enough, and that’s the end of it. Not a relationship that bonds me forever tills the altar calls.

Recently I was in a relationship, and really I think in fact it was a healthy one except for the fact that I did not really have time, and besides I was afraid of the fact that the relationship was going too deep. I couldn’t really be there for my lady. So I decided to call it quits. But really I would say this was one of the hardest decision I had take in years. But what a man got to do, he has to do. Now well I tried to explain the reason for my stance by my ex-lady would not see it. Well to make it easy on me I just did ask for forgiveness and had to bear the fact that she wont really see my angle, not now, maybe the future. That’s a lady for you.

Well indeed relationships are what they are, hard to let go, hard to forget and really had too reason rationally when they are not going well.

Developing Developed VS Developing Undeveloped

Developing Developed VS Developing Undeveloped

Developing Developed VS Developing Undeveloped, Comfort Bankruptcy VS Comfort Poverty, and the list goes on and on. The Developing developed world (The USA, Australia, European Countries and even Some Asian Countries) whilst in the other case The Developing Undeveloped (Most African countries, Some South American countries, Some European countries, and also not forgetting Asian countries). Nest of comfort packaged around governmental level of citizen support in terms of education through loans, house acquisition through mortgages, Free shopping through credit cards etc.
Many of us are actually still have this believe that the state of the Developing developed world is what to dream for and what to expect in what we may called a perfect system of governance and livelihood. The dream has elevated to the extent that there is nothing that could stop them from making use of any opportunity to migrate to any country that gives such opportunities as listed above.
Frankly when I take a look at such system I don’t see anything to look or copy from. Firstly the method of getting educated in the developing developed world. Getting education from such countries are so expensive that the citizens are left with no choice but to take loans or financial aids to support them through out the education. Now this loans means they are automatically in debt from day 1 of deciding to get an education in a higher institution, and mind you there are not interest free loans, they are in fact supported by an interesting amount of loans that you have to struggle all you life trying to repay after getting out of this institution. So what is so special about getting in debt, I think those in African countries should be proud of the fact that after education in the higher institution, they are not in debt!!

Mortgages another way to get you in debt, now I need a home, I can get it due to support by the system I stay in, but then what about the interest rates, the debt? I mean what is so special about it, why cant I just rent instead and be debt free? And besides the idea of saving the money that is supposed to go for repaying mortgages plus the interest would eventually be able to be saved for a new debt free home. And besides using the part to also pay rent ;) don’t you think this is just a perfect solution, but yet again many of us still think we really need mortgages, and having a house is an asset, but not forgetting the debt!! That you would have to be repaying all your life, and even maybe your children would continue repaying too.
Another form of slavery is here and is here to stay in the new developed world!! Or even yet to be developed. Slavery to Banks, government, and financial institutions is really what this is, and what can be worse than that.
Well I guess every development or progress has its price.

The Future of Dotcom Imitators in Africa.

Disclaimer: This Posting does not refer to anybody nor does it describe any body I know of. It was just a mere opinion on what I see and try to explain. Please bear in mind that opinions are just what they are, they do not necessitate facts and thus they should be taken with a pinch of salt if they are not in accordance with your beliefs.

Tapping back to history from the gold rush in 1848 California, to the Dotcom craze during the 90s. The influx of prospectors, adventurers or even dreamers streaming from every nuke and cranny, was really something that had a mark in history but then again here we are in the year 2005, people still Never learn.

Today we see the ever increasing rise of different websites ranging from social networks, to on-line shopping malls in Third world countries especially from the African region. The main motivation behind all this is the websites they see when they browse the net, and they quickly assume that this websites are really making huge amount of profits. They go and build a similar website based on the concept. The pathetic issue here is that this websites are located in the Developed part of world and the market is for the developed market !!. And really most of this imitators do not really know what a simple word like E-commerce means. Or even to go into the extreme of understanding the marketing concepts, and then mastering it, and developing ever changing marketing techniques to suit it. Well so to say its just easy, get a website on-line, register a domain, and start selling, or start running forums and maybe probably the regular income would just stream in.

How many even know that a canonical “dot-com” company’s business model relies on network effects to justify losing money to build market share, or even mind share, through giving their product away in the hope that they could eventually charge for it. (It’s worth noting that Amazon.com and other successful survivors of the era (*.com crash) proved this strategy sound in the long term, for a small few.) Many raised cash through public offerings on the stock exchanges, with stock often soaring to dizzying heights and making the initial controllers of the company wildly rich on paper.

Well from what I know Amazon the no1 when it comes to on-line shopping in terms of price and recognition is still owing banks huge amounts of money. Now the question is do they even make profit? From what I can tell No. So first of all, from what I understand about on-line businesses is that you have to know the market, then study it, then you can then develop ever changing ideas from that based on market trends, and besides you have to also get a source for investment to get a professional set-up to ensure that you have a grip on the market.

Now how many African on-line portals, are really up to that standard? I can really count them with my finger tips, maybe in Nigeria (shopforless.com) and a few others . Yet you still see young lads building up portals, hosting it, and wasting a lot of money hoping that they would earn a regular income through that (Well we the hosters get to earn from that :p). The future I see is a future of regret and withdrawal. But then again who knows?. I just hope that if its the later they don’t burn badly.

New Passion.

Well i have being lazy due to probably, because of the tormenting exam and maybe even life, my normal boring life that is.

Well i have been thinking of learning Java from scratch and becoming an expert like Dabar but then for a start I had to actually browse his blog, to get tips on things to download etc.

Besides that he has also personally really beign very helpful in terms of advising me on the approach such as my part of the dedication and also the recommendation of the best book to buy. He recommended Java How to Program 6/E (latest edition),published by Deitel. When i checked both of my favourite local Bookstores via their websites MPH and KINOKUNIYA . They didntt have it. I even called theMPH and gave them the ISBN and they told me they dont have it when the lady checked the system. So I decided to search other bookstores like Times etc, still without any postitive result.

I then called Kinokuniya and the lady at the reception said they dont have it in stock, but they could order it for me . The funny thing is they actually have 2 editions . One the International edition costing arround RM79(approx 20.59USD) and the other what they call a normal edition costing also arround RM359(approx 92.52USD) or so. See the huge difference??. The international edition does not come with the Cds. So why not just download it from the site, and the rest from different respective sites. hehehe
Besides its a lot of money. So i called her back and told her i wanted the cheap one :p

So well my exams ends on the 16th of this month. So starting which Java ensures something for the holidays. No vacation for me, it would be just coding and coding and coding :D . And besides i downloaded w.blogger from the website, and its not working :( thats a desktop application software for blogging easily from your desktop environment. Anywayz i would try to re-download and reinstall later and see.Currently i just had my lunch and i am sleepy. :yawns:

Africans are starving and the Brits are throwing food away.

Food Bins There are around 2.6 million people starving in Africa, and yet the average Brit is throwing away food (*statistic from The World Food Programme (WFP) ) .

Around one third of food grown for human consumption in the UK ends up in the rubbish bin, new figures reveal.

So why are people starving in Africa, and people throwing away food into bins in the Uk? well they said their reason was the following and I quote that

“We are very greedy when we go and shop. Our eyes are bigger than stomachs in homes and in restaurants. ” and also that the idea that the food is cheap makes us throw it away. what a waste !!.

This world is really very complex. Some have too much and they throw it away, whilst others dont even have the means to even have just a basic simple meal a day. Its really pathetic.

BLOGS AGAIN !!

Last time i remembered talking about blogs, as the craze now. well yeah its really craze. can you believe that there is actually something called BlogShares??

Dem !! the world of blogs is going crazy !! , yes now if u might ask what really is BlogShares ?

BlogShares is a fantasy stock market for weblogs. Players get to invest a fictional $500, and blogs are valued by incoming links.

Interesting isnt it? i mean the world of blogs, still trying to forcast the future !! but i really cant see the future of it. still trying though.

WELL NOT ONLY JUST THE BLOGGIES

Hum BLOGS BLOGS BLOGS. The craze is really out there, people are blogging their hearts out, whether it be personal or professional. well its quite interesting what the future of blogs would be, i think it would be more of an occupation, because the way awards are given and the response of people towards blogging to get the awards, really says it all. Check THE SA Bloggies another award for Blogers but this time the audience is South Africans. well got the information from some guy that commented in one of my postings. This trend really says something, maybe soon each country would have its own blog competitions, then even states, then even districts. who knows !!. wait a minute why not i start one for my own motherland. hehehe. yeah i love putting my hands into everything.
