Gender equality in Chile cabinet.

MichelleSocialist Michelle Bachelet, would be swon in as Chile’s first woman president in March 11. The interesting thing about this is, a cabinet of 10 women and 10 men, fullfilling a campaign promise of equal opportunity government, was unveiled on Monday.

It seems the pledge to narrow the gap between rich and the poor and also help in the improvement of the status of women in Chile is going to see the light of the day.

Roundup on Rabel threat in Niger Delta.

Nigeria
Dec 20: Bombing of pipeline killed 11 people.
Jan 11: Four Shell oil workers kidnapped-released Jan 30 without ransom payment.
Jan 11: Oil pipeline blown up
Jan 15: Speedboat attack on Shell platform.
Jan 24: Nine people killed in attack on offices of an Italian oil firm Agip.
Jan 29: Rebels attack HQ of South Korea’s Daewoo oil company.

It does not just end there, current barrel production of Nigeria per day is now 2.19 million which makes Nigeria rank 8th position in global production.

The question I have is:-
Is this attack justified for the so called cause?
Does this do any good to Nigerian’s reputation in the global community?
Does the government of Nigeria have plans in seeing an end to this malice?
Is Nigeria a safe place to live?

It disheartens me, to see Nigeria embrace democracy and still be facing problems that threaten peace and harmony to the people living within its territory. Where is the love?

Google visiting the OS world.

goobuntu
Google annouced its interest in Operating systems, and I am sure the news would provoke Microsoft. Google said, it is preparing its own distribution of Linux for the desktop in a project called Goobuntu. A version of the increasingly popular Ubuntu desktop Linux distribution, based on Debian and the Gnome desktop. This is indeed a possible bid to take on Microsoft in its core business – desktop software.

What I dont understand is, isn’t the race in building an internet empire occupying enough? I think google is getting too ambitious. How about if they become successful in making it to be able to execute windows based applications? What would happen. Would that trigger an aggressive feedback from Microsoft? Well that would also be good news to the opensource community.

Anywayz lets wait and see.

Video Surveillance made easy.

Worried about people snooping around your workplace, when you are out? Need to keep an eye out for your kids at home?

dlink

Well there is a gadget that would just do that. The D-Link Security camera Network DCS-950G wireless internet camera. It connects to a computer through an Ethernet cable or wireless network, whilst taking snapshots or recording with high-quality video and audio.

It is also packed with much more features that would just serve your surveillance needs. I should warn you that it can not be used for spying, without it revealing itself, for its obvious size.

More information can be found at the product website Here.

Mind Your E-Mail Manners.

email
Most of us have done it in one way or another. Let our emotions get better of us in our e-mail. Perhaps emails should come with a disclaimer at the bottom? Caution: “May Inflict Injury or even “Sender might be loaded”. That’s because, even after years in which e-mail has been a common communications medium, many people still don’t seem to know how to use it.

Imagine getting an email of one page length from a customer in capitals? Or even the curt, insensitive and often downright rude e-mail messages that pop into my mailbox often regularly. I am far from being the sensitive type, but then again, the rate at which the emails come in, regularly, calls for questioning.

Well here are some suggestions on how to keep it less annoying.

The World of payment processors.

Payment processors play an important role in the world of E-commerce. It is either you are using it to pay for a product or service or to get paid for offering a product or service. Whichever position you find yourself, you are left to do the worrying, on whether the payment processor you are using is worth using or not. Security, Reliability, and Support are primary concerns in decision making.

The method normally been chosen by the online public, depends also on certain factors, which is normally brought about by the restrictions set by the processor or payment gateway. This restriction is generally determined by the laid down regulations sometimes call terms, that governs the existence of the processor.

I have been opportune to use a lot of payment processors either at the receiving end or from the sending end, be it for pleasure or for business. So, I would say I have the prerequisite to give feedbacks to the services been offered by the processors I have had the opportunity to use.

The payment processors I have been opportune to use are Paypal, Emocorp, Stormpay, 2checkout, E-gold and Moneybookers.
